Jatun is Scott Worley, and hails from Portland, OR.

Extended Biography:

Jatun started out in 2004 when Scott Worley met Alan Grosvenor in Portland, OR. The 2 swapped solo albums and quickly became good friends. Scott’s “Biltmore Dive” and Alan’s “Fantasytank” both paved the way for the songs that would slowly form into the mish-mash of cables, circuits, ivory and alcohol known as “Jatun.” The first recorded song was “Ion Crush,” which was featured in a Nike SB promo video in 2006. Helly Hansen, Cusp, and Nike AKG also used tracks from Jatun’s upcoming 2007 release.

- September 2005 to 2006.  Scott and Alan work heavily on finishing their self-titled debut album. During this time the Portland, OR based label Other Electricities signs the band for a record deal. Soon after Carl Saff masters the album.

- March 6th, 2007.  “Jatun” is released on Other Electricities and distributed worldwide on CD through OE & Darla and digitally through OE & The Orchard.

- Spring 2007. Scott starts writing material for “Blanket of Ash.”

- September 2007. “Ion Crush” is released on an annual compilation from Darla Records called, “Little Darla Has A Treat For You V.25 Endless Summer 20007-08.”

- October 2007.  “1221 Amor (Mars-grazer)” is released on a 3rd anniversary compilation album from Chat Blanc Records called, “3.”

- Spring 2008.  Scott remixes “Interlude” by You.May.Die.In.The.Desert. In June 2008, the remix is released on YMDITD’s “Bears In The Yukon” on The Mylene Sheath.

- Spring 2008.  Jatun is asked to be on the 3rd and final Club AC30 classic shoegaze compilation series, “Never Lose That Feeling.” Scott starts working on a cover of Swervedriver’s “Never Lose That Feeling.”

- Fall 2008.  Scott finishes recording the last of the material for “Blanket of Ash” and finalizes the track listing for the album. At this time, BoA was already a 1 and a 1/2 year effort and is still incomplete.

- October 2008.  Alan had recorded his guitar parts for “Blanket of Ash” and Scott’s friend David Bolt (Letdown, The Delta Mirror) recorded some electric piano parts on “Electricity.” It was also around this time that Alan had recorded his guitar parts for the Swervedriver cover for Club AC30. Soon afterwards, Alan had left Jatun in order to focus more on his family and career with a local thriving coffee company.

- February 2009.  Scott and Alan close out Club AC30’s classic shoegaze compilation series, “Never Lose That Feeling Volume 3” with Swervedriver’s “Never Lose That Feeling.”

 - April 2009. Scott starts recording monthly improvisational sessions to help start promoting the upcoming release of Blanket of Ash. These recordings eventually see a release almost 2 years later on Other Electricities as “Temporary Expedient: Improv Series Vol. 1.”

- Summer 2009.  Scott remixes “Balding Generation (Losing Hair As We Lose Hope)” by port-royal. In September 2009, the remix is released on port-royal’s “Balding Generation (Losing Hair As We Lose Hope)” on n5MD.

- March 7, 2010.  Exactly 3 years after the release of the debut s/t album, “Blanket of Ash” is released on Other Electricities and distributed worldwide on limited edition 12” Vinyl through OE & Darla and digitally through OE & The Orchard. Carl Saff returns to handle the mastering.

- Summer 2010.  Scott remixes “Waiting For Something” by Bitcrush. In August 2010 the remix was released on Bitcrush’s remix compilation, “From Arcs To Embers” on n5MD.

- March 08, 2011. “Temporary Expedient: Improv Series Vol. 1” is released on Other Electricities, and is distributed worldwide digitally through OE & The Orchard. TE:ISV1 is only available digitally due to the length of the album, which is just over 2 1/2 hours long.

- March 13, 2011. Scott leaves to Malmö, Sweden to produce and mix the debut album by eleventhfloorrecords for n5MD.

- May 24, 2011. Scott’s remix of “Absolution Is A Plustoy” by Anklebiter is released on Tympanik Audio on CD and is available worldwide digitally.
